The lamb kebabs are always cooked great, with a generous portion. The lamb chops were also great. The chicken was just a touch dry, but still enjoyable. The bread here is amazing, and I'd recommend asking for extra bread at the table as an appetizer while waiting for the entrees.

Kabul Afghan Cuisine in Sunnyvale delivers a delightful dining experience with authentic Afghan flavors. The standout of my meal was undoubtedly the lamb chops, which were tender, flavorful, decently seasoned and cooked to my exact liking--a true highlight! It came on a large skewer (biggest serving I've had of lamb chops for sure). The entire meal was so much food I love it!! The lamb was not the best I ever had and the green spicy sauce really helped with the flavors, but still was very tasty. I put that green sauce on everything, very spicy However, the rice and bread fell a bit short for *me*. While the rice was cooked well, it lacked the depth of flavor I hoped for, and the bread was not as flavorful as I expected. The appetizers were delicious. The fried potatoes draped in creamy sauce was indulgent and satisfying, and the mango lassi was a refreshing complement to the meal. Overall, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere inviting. It's a solid 4/5 for me--worth visiting, especially for the lamb and appetizers!

I came with my team for lunch and had a great time! There were other large parties around us and the decor was nice inside. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We also had some samosas which were delicious, and the chutney they serve has quite some heat to it! Mango Lassi - thick and delicious! It was one of the better mango lassi's I've had and I thoroughly enjoyed the strong mango taste along with the tangy yogurt. It wasn't too sweet. Combination Kabob (lamb and chicken) - the kabobs were juicy and tender. The lamb was pink inside and not gamey at all. Chicken was moist and the char was perfect. For dessert, we had baklava and the rosewater ice cream. Baklava was delicious and flaky, the ice cream had a nice floral (rose) taste to it and wasn't too overpowering. There's limited street parking but plenty of parking garages around Sunnyvale downtown.

We decided to try this place again and it was great!! Just be very specific about how you want the meat cooked. And don't expect chunks of onion, pepper and tomato on the skewer. They just serve tiny pieces of those. Service is excellent! And the prices are reasonable for the portion size. But stay away from the giant bowl of after dinner mints they have at the entrance. Very unsanitary...

The atmosphere and setting of the restaurant is great. I remember this restaurant when it was on El Camino years and years ago, way before covid. Now the restaurant is more upscale and lots more space and room. The food still tastes delicious, the only change is the price has gone up. I always get the lamb dish on the skewer. When I am craving for Afghan foods in Sunnyvale, this is the place I go.

Had not been here in a few years and the menu seemed to be the same as what I remembered. Some restaurants can maintain the quality of the food and service over the years and Afghan Kabul is one for sure. Loved the kabobs and the rice as well always did. Will definitely plan to be back...

We have a group of 9 people. Everyone love their appetizer platter and kabobs with rice plate. Vegetarian is a bit boring in my opinion. Service is good. Food comes fast and hot. Meat is a bit dry. Parking is hard to find if you don't know this area. Overall wine was good so we were all having a great time.

Came here for a friend's birthday this past week and had a great time! The service was pretty good considering our party had around 20 people. My bf and I shared: Mantu appetizer (3/5): dumplings in sauce/spices. I thought it was ok. Needed the side sauces to save it because it was lacking a bit in the flavor department. Lawand (5/5): The chicken was surprisingly quite juicy and I enjoyed the nuttiness of the curry, despite there being no nuts. My bf ordered this and I ended up liking it more than the Korma I ordered. So so delicious when eaten with the bread. This one I'd recommend for the homies with nut allergies for sure. Korma Challan (5/5): the lamb was cooked perfectly and super tender! The curry was also packed with flavors. I loved pairing this with the green sauce/yogurt they gave us as well. Also, the side of bread that comes with this is SO GOOD. Overall the food was good but it was quite pricey. I saw that their mango lassi is $8 which shocked me a bit. This is definitely a spot for a nicer occasion when you're willing to splurge. The location is nice though because it's closed to boba and desserts after.

This was my first time trying Kabul after a family member's recommendation and I'm glad I gave it a try. We got the chef's platter and the korma challaw. The chef's platter included the sambosa, mantu, and pakawra-e-badenjan (eggplant with yogurt and meat). The sambosa and eggplant were probably my favorites from the chef's platter, they were breaded perfectly and were so crispy! If I come back, I'd definitely get the eggplant again as an appetizer. Getting the chef's plate is a great way to try and share all the appetizers if it's your first time here, to see what you'd get next time. Service was fantastic, there was always a waiter around to refill waters or answer any questions. This is a spacious restaurant that fills quickly, a true testament to how good their food is. It's beautifully decorated too!
